Louisiana fossil sites

I live in southern Louisiana, not the best place for any fossil hunting, but since I'm now on summer vacation, I can go around the state a bit and look for some fossils. I've heard Tunica Hills is a good place for Ice age fossils. Does anyone else have an idea of where to look in Louisiana.

Welcome to the Forum. :)

You can start your research from this list.

Keep in mind, the info is very old, and may no longer be accurate.

Sites may be gone, (built or grown over) no longer accessible, or on private/state/federal land.

Good luck.

Thank you, I've heard of a couple of these sites before, but its like you said... A lot of them are gone at this point. The climate of Louisiana isn't very good for preserving anything.

Are you specifically interested in vertebrate fossils, or are invertebrates OK?

I'm interested in anything, but vertebrates would be nice. I know invertebrates such as mollusks, clams, etc. are common fossils here, but I'd rather not sit all day digging for just clams.
