May 26th G'ville Hunt

Well, Sundancer73 and I decided to get out this morning and hunt the creeks for a few hours before the rain moved in. Very glad we did, we had a great time and found a few nice little fossils. Got a couple of those "in-shovel" and "in-screen" shots for you guys. Afterward, Sundancer's wife let me hold Rose, her baby wallaby. Highlight of the day, she was awesome. :D

First find of the day... Anyone that knows about Mid Miocene marine mammals, any clues as to what exactly this is?

Nice finds.

How often do you curse the leaves?

Often... Ya get one a different color and you could swear it's something good at first glance (They also get in the way really bad sometimes).

Nice (baby wallaby!) finds! The (baby wallaby!) makos are (baby wallaby!) sweet!

Thanks (baby wallaby!) for the (baby wallaby!) in-screen (baby wallaby!) shots!

Glad you brought the finds out from under the leaves. :P

About that tooth, looked online a bit and couldn't find one like it.

Hope to hear what it is..

Very nice haul!

Rose is a real sweetie!

Great trip. Everybody that hunts Gainesville seems to be obsessed with meg teeth, but I love finding mammal teeth and ones that size and condition are hard to come by.

  • 3 weeks later...

Nice maco finds. All my maco's are a steel gray to dark gray. Look like great whale teeth too. They seem to come in streaks for me too.
