Help Me To Id Fossil

Hope this a OK way to post pictures. I have been having a little trouble trying to post the pictures on the forum.

These were found in Trickham Texas. They were on the side of a dirt road that had been worked on.

Any help to identify what they are would be greatly appreciated.

look like solitary corals to me. i think you might be in permian strata.

That's dead on, wish I could find corals like that around here, all we get are ones the size of my thumb nail.LOL

tracer is right. I have found a lot of those near there (Brownwood).

Welcome. If you live in that area, you can find lots of fossils.

Pat, I can pass a few of those your way if you want.

Thanks to all who replied. Its nice to find out what they were.....

I'll be gone for a few weeks and when I get back I'll put some more fossils on the Forum.

Yeah, what they say, the fossils are corals. They are Rugose corals commonly called horn corals. I believe the coral is Caninia sp. and probably Caninia tortquia.
