Guest solius symbiosus
Upon closer inspection of a Brachiopod (Hebertella sp) that I found last week, it appears that there are a couple of Cornulites encrusting the thing. The focus isn't that great. The scale is about 4 or 5 mm. Cornulites Lexington Lm. Millerburg Mb. Fayette Co. Ky. This is what I believe to be cilia off a crinoid? Crinoid cilia? Lexington Lm. Members geofossil
thanks for sharing. 'Epifauna' on brachiopods can be fascinating. I've made a collection of them over the years. Sometimes I'll put a brach under the scope and find something new. Here's a few epifauna: Tabulate coral 'Protaria richmondensis' on 'Strophomena sp.' brach Tabulate coral' 'Aulapora sp.' and coiled worms on 'Spinatrypa sp. brach Edrioasteroid 'Carneyella sp' on 'Atrypa' sp. brach Edrioasteroid 'Carneyella pilea' on 'Rafinesquina' brach Edrioaseroid 'Cystaster stellatus' on brach Trilobite pygidiums on 'Mucrospirifer thedfordensis' brach
