New Members locorojo Posted March 4, 2017 New Members Share Posted March 4, 2017 Good afternoon, I frequent the beach at Bolivar Peninsula in Southeast Texas. I have found several shark's teeth but, I am curious to know your opinions about the pictures I am posting. It looks like a rock but, does have a discernible line, that would normally be between the tooth and the gum line. Obviously could be a coincidence. Curious as to your thoughts. All other teeth I have found look nothing like this, they are very easily identified. Thanks in advance for your help!
JohnJ
Welcome to The Forum. This one is just a suggestively shaped pebble. 1 The human mind has the ability to believe anything is true. - JJ
caldigger
Rock, but it does suggest a questionable second look.
New Members locorojo Posted March 5, 2017 Author New Members Share Posted March 5, 2017 Ever seen a tooth covered in sediment like this? The line between what would be the gum line and the tooth, just always kept me wondering. caldigger, what kind of second look are you talking about? Thanks for your responses, I appreciate it!

therocksharks
Could be end of a claw? I think it's a fossil, it has a pattern/texture to it! (It's cool too!)
Fossildude19
No enamel. No root texture/structure. No tooth morphology. Not a tooth. No bone texture, so not a claw. It is a rock. 2 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 IPFOTM -- MAY - 2024 _________________________________________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."
