I have not found anything that looks like this....I don't think it is just a rock but I just don't know and that is why I am here. I have also been to many sites but don't know where to even start so I am HOPING someone here can help. I have one more unidentified item that I would like to post if this one turns out to be something. Thank you all so much and I hope I am not waisting anyones time. (Spell check is not working with my computer, sorry if any spellings are wrong) I

Eh, you're not wasting our time...the Fossil Forum has been keeping me from getting any real work done since last August B) Looks to me like you have a concretion, but somebody here my be able to prove me wrong. Concretions are sediments that get formed into odd shapes, then harden into a rock.

it is of course shaped like it could be a tool, but i don't think it is one. i can, however, certainly see why you would think that. it's similar in a way to some stone axe shapes.

but what i really think it is, is a piece of sedimentary stone, like sandstone, which has been differentially eroded on one end, which was exposed to the elements, perhaps flowing water.

but all that's just one person's hypothesizing.

welcome to the forum, and feel free to post your other picture too.

Agree... sedimentary formation that might have some kind of concretion in it.
