tracer Posted July 1, 2009 Share Posted July 1, 2009 the photo just isn't really good for id'ing things. i'd say it isn't shell and it isn't bone, but it could be petrified wood, but can't tell from the photo. need clearer photos of both sides. actually, i'm going to reverse myself. just can't even rule out shell without clearer pictures. the older fossil bone from the north sulphur is most frequently black and looks nothing like that piece.
