Hi there, can anyone out there identify this fossil? It was found in 140ft of water off of the jurassic coast of dorset, England and is approx 25cm long and weighs around a kilo. Any help gratefully received.

At nearly 10 inches long, and weighing 2+ pounds, I'd say its more likely you're looking at a rib of some critter. There also doesn't appear to be any preserved enamel, another strike against being a tooth. Pretty cool though!

Too huge to be a dino tooth even with the root. This locality, isn't it where lots of marine reptiles have been found?
