dirtdauber
Guessing crableg on this fossil but have never seen one like it. Kind of looks like a plucked turkey wing. Bent like an elbow, with total length of about 12 - 13 inches and averaging 1.5 to 2 inches in width. Found in a creek bed in central Alabama along with "Muffin crabs" and ammonites. Cretaceous age, Ripley Formation. Started prepping, but preservation is variable, like many of the crabs found in this formation. Thought a before and after picture might be informative. Will be a while before I finish prepping it. Thanks for any information.

Nice gam there Frank and fossilshk, Appreciate the info., but do you have any idea as to the genus of this lobster? I've had no luck in identifying any fossil lobster with such large appendages. Thanks. George
