I found this small brachiopod in the Dobbs Valley Sandstone,

Mingus Formation. I did not find it in the book, Pennsylvanian Fossils

Of North Texas./

Was hoping someone might know....

Hi Roz,

I believe it is some species of Mesolobus ... I find them in this area too.

Try Charles Finsley's A Field Guide to Fossils of Texas if you have access to a copy.

If not, let me know and I can scan some info for you.

Thanks so much, FF. I have that book and found it. Looks to be a Mesolobus inflexus then.

I didn't even try thy that book as assumed I would find in the other. I found one of those but

in comparing the two, thought I saw differences.

Thanks again

yes i've found a lot of discrepancies between the different sources ...

not sure if it's due to a lot of variety between the different species, or just plain ol' misinformation.
