Hello !

I present you my very small collection. I started it last summer, so I do not have many pieces yet, but I prefer pretty pieces. I do not have the chance to search on the field, so I buy my fossils.

We have:

Keichousaurus Hui, I really like his broken tail

Russian trilobite, Asaphus punctatus (I have not been able to label it yet). Restoration verified with violet lamp, less than 10%

Spinosaurus tooth, correct quality, only glued but with pieces of the same tooth

Last Acquisition: caudal vertebra spinosaurus

I am going to buy other teeth of theropauds (carcharodontosaurs) in the next few months and I am mainly interested in dinosaurs fossils.

See you soon !

It may be a small collection but I think you are off to a good start!:)

You've only got 4 items but already they're all things I don't have in my collection... I guess that's a good thing about collecting fossils, otherwise everyone's collection would be the same.  :headscratch:

  • 1 year later...

Hello !

I hadn't shown my collection for a very long time. Now it's even richer, with a few new pieces!

A carcharodontosaurus tooth :

In particular, I was able to acquire this Psittacosaurus skull. Admittedly, I know it's of rather poor quality, with some badly done restorations, but I can't afford to buy a top-quality skull.

An oviraptor sp egg (maybe someone can define the species?) :

And here's a big Spinosaurus vertebra! According to your opinions on this very forum (in another topic) it seems to be rather correct, nothing proves that the different elements come from the same specimen, but it seems to be one of the least bad in any case!

Finally, my latest acquisitions this year:

A Machairodus tooth, but no one has yet given me a detailed opinion on its quality?

as I'm not an expert and I mostly have a contact who supplies me with fossils that I feel I can trust, I'm always very concerned about the quality of my fossils, so if you have any comments on them, please don't hesitate to contact me.

That frog is really neat!  Probably my favorite fossil out of your collection, but that's just me :)

I have never seen a frog fossil before! I like that very very much, possibly even jealous!

ah yes? I saw several at the fossil fair in Ste Marie aux Mines a few days ago (the largest in the world along with Tucson and Munich).

For this fossil in particular, the person who sold it to me had two 'sides', the negative and the positive. I chose the positive because you can clearly see the traces of skin!
