New Members Homeschool Mom Posted January 14, 2019 New Members Share Posted January 14, 2019 Hello All, I would like to take a group of families camping somewhere along the Peace River in Florida to hunt fossils. Does anyone have a suggestion for a campground, or even just a great spot for finding fossils? We don't necessarily need to camp. Thank you for any suggestions! goatinformationist
Certainly not Ginnie on the Sante Fe river?
Sacha
There are several campgrounds on the Peace River, but anywhere close by them, the river is no longer productive. If you can camp and then kayak, you'll be better off. Zolfo Springs, Wauchula and arcadia are all locations to google campgrounds.
PaleoNoel
On my trip to the Florida last year I stayed at the Peace River RV & Camping Resort in Wauchula, at that campground there's river access and I went fossil hunting only about 1,000 feet from my cabin. It's also where I found this bird talon!
Harry Pristis
Oops! I had a senior moment there. Ginnie Springs is on the Santa Fe River, not the Peace. http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
