Rockwood
This is from northern Maine. Devonian marine rocks in the Seboomook group of formations I believe. When I collected it my best guess was that it was a bryozoan, but somehow it didn't seem to fit right. I cleaned some of the dust off it recently for another look. The tube shapes and configuration of the molds have me thinking maybe syringopora ? It's all the same colony, just broken up.
Tidgy's Dad
Nice. I'm pretty sure it's a coral, not a bryozoan, but can't make out if it's rugose or tabulate with my eyesight. But from what i can make out, I think Syringopora is a good starting point. Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
TqB
I think Syringopora looks right. There seem to be connecting tubules, and rings of various sizes in the transverse sections that suggest infundibuliform tabulae. (Can't see the longitudinal sections clearly enough but they seem OK.) 1 Tarquin
