ynot
Day 18. Continued to pull crystals out all day. The crystals became more milky and the vug became tighter as we dug further in. At the end of the day the vug became depleted. Will be up there filling the hole next trip up. Sorry, I took no pictures yesterday. Now the search for a new pocket to dig in...... Thanks for Your support Folks!
ynot
Day 19. When We arrived at the claim decided to make a last check of the hole before filling it in. Found that there was a marrow band of the vug running into the corner of the hole. Dug for a few minutes and decided it was worth following. Pulled several nice crystals out, but not finding as much as the previous 3 days. At the end of the day We filled the hole. The hole in 2016 The hole before filling. Some of the days finds... And a picture of the hole just before filling it in.

ynot
Day 20. Filled holes and spread straw (erosion control). It was a pleasant day, but would have been nice to find some crystals because it was My 62,nd. Oh well, maybe next time up.

ynot
Day 20a. I had personal responsibilities to take care of and could not get to the claim, so My partners went up to restore the trails and hole dug on the previous day. After they had done the tasks needed they cut a new trail past the area of hole 5 and started to dig another exploratory trench. Shortly thereafter they hit another (blind) pocket and pulled some nice crystals out. I will be trying to get up there tomorrow to see what they found!

Pagurus
This has been great reading, Tony. I hadn't realized that crystals could be found the way you are finding them. Thanks for the lesson. I'm kidding Ynot. No need to send me any as I'm having space issues (ironic I know). They are still very beautiful! Keep on chugging along (Also hope you had a happy birthday!) ynot
Day 21. Arrived at the claim a little early and found My partners were already cleaning out the hole they discovered on the day I missed. It is about 18 feet deep. We jumped in as soon as the backhoe was done and crystals were falling out of the wall! We dug what We could and then the backhoe took it's turn to remove the overburden and tailings. Then back into the hole and pull some more crystals out. (About 20 minutes for the backhoe and 2 to 3 hours in the hole pulling out crystals., on each round.
ynot
Day 22. More of the same all day. Although the vug started to pinch down mid afternoon. The crystals started showing more damage, but we're still finding some good ones and some fairly large ones (although they were missing the tips or had other major damage. A lot of heartbreakers.)) At the end of the day We still had a wide lead into the hill with crystals showing. So now We will follow the lead and hope We find another good vug in the pocket. (Sorry, not many pictures.) The weld at the bottom of the main piston has been leaking (pin hole) and has gotten progressively worse as We have been digging. Got to the point where My partners have ordered a replacement piston. Waiting for delivery so repairs can be made...... More to follow?
ynot
Well, today We had a little party to split the take from the first two pockets (Which have been filled and restored to the original slope.) Most of the crystals laid out before the pick. Closer pictures of the crystals from pocket five. Closer shots of the crystals from pocket 6.
