Top Trilo
Amazing progress on the gar, can't wait to see it finished. It looks like it's buried pretty deep, or is that just a consequence of a 2D photo? Do any of your preps now seem at least a little bit faster after completing that bird? “If fossils are not "boggling" your mind then you are simply not doing it right” -Ken (digit) "No fossil is garbage, it´s just not completely preserved” -Franz (FranzBernhard) "With hammer in hand, the open horizon of time, and dear friends by my side, what can we not accomplish together?" -Kane (Kane) "We are in a way conquering time, reuniting members of a long lost family" -Quincy (Opabinia Blues) "I loved reading the trip reports, I loved the sharing, I loved the educational aspect, I loved the humor. It felt like home. It still does" -Mike (Pagurus) “The best deal I ever got was getting accepted as a member on The Fossil Forum. Not only got an invaluable pool of knowledge, but gained a loving family as well.” -Doren (caldigger) "it really is nice, to visit the oasis that is TFF" -Tim (fossildude19) "Life's Good! -Adam (Tidgy's Dad)

It's averaging 1/2" deep with some of the scales just below the surface where they have pushed up. Everything is fast compared to the bird. The delicate nature of inflated bird bones and feathers automatically requires a significant slow down of the prep speed. One of the diplos I just finished only took 9 hours and the diplo/cockerelites plate only took 15 hours. I'm 37 hours into the gar and anticipate it taking 100-125 hours total. 2 Regards, Kris Global Paleo Services, LLC https://globalpaleoservices.com http://instagram.com/globalpaleoservices http://instagram.com/kris.howe

Sometimes it’s really hard to let them go. After spending months working on a specimen, there definitely is a bit of a connection. There really have only been a few fossils that I was sad to see leave the lab. Typically, I’m thinking about my backlogged queue as I finish up a long project. I’m already onto the next project. This one is a cluster of echinoids. 1 Regards, Kris Global Paleo Services, LLC https://globalpaleoservices.com http://instagram.com/globalpaleoservices http://instagram.com/kris.howe
