The stomach is jammed full of smaller, mostly articulated fish.

Oooooo! Can we see a closeup of that! I dont think I’ve seen anything in the tummies of any that I’ve done. I’ll have to look again.

It’s pretty cool. The fins are flaky on all the fish and the Priksy and Diplo have flaky scales, but nothing patience and Paraloid can’t handle.

Thanks all. The shocking part for me was when I added up my hours for the entire project, it was only 67.25! I had a 100 hour budget to work with so, that makes for a very happy client. :P

This slab was a blast to prep! I only have around 40 more to prep in this lot!

It's a good feeling to have a slight backlog of projects for sure. :D I'm currently working on a deal to be the recommended preparator for visitors who go to a very well known quarry. Could be huge. :fingerscrossed:

Great slab Kris! That is awesome that you were able to show the eaten fish.

A real job!? Why would you do that :shakehead: The quarry folks will be so lucky to have you!

Thanks! It's only kind of like a real job. It's still far too much fun to prep than a real job, even if it is a business. The only difference is that I still have to go work, even when I'm not feeling it. I know, it sounds shocking but eventually, you get to the point where you don't want to prep. :P

On a happy note, my new scribes from ZOIC arrived today and are patiently waiting for me to unwrap them and play with them. I've only been waiting since mid-December! That's really fast considering that I waited 18 months for my HW322 from Mr. Winkler.

This is about as close to a perfect Diplomystus as one can get. The fins got a little flaky at the tips but that’s about all. There was a nice soft layer of matrix right on top of the specimen and a beautiful separation between it and the harder layer on top.

Perfection if you ask me. Beautiful work Kris.

I just got caught back up on your thread, Kris. Great prep work as always. Beautiful fish!

I’m also happy that you have a bit of backlog (that you are just hammering through!) and it’s good to hear about the potential to be on a recommended list at that quarry. Exciting times for you! I hope it all works out, my friend! :thumbsu:

Thanks. It's pretty exciting. I get to prep way more than I would if I only got to prep what I collect. That being said, I also don't have time do do much collecting either. :duh2:

If I remember correctly, this one took just shy of 63 hours.
