MOROPUS
Hi! some time ago, I found during a hunt, a piece of rock I thought it was concrete. At first glance, it looked as it. But then I realize it was formed by more or less equally square or rhomboidal little pieces, embedded on the local matrix. Can anyone help to ID it? The only thing I can match in my books, are either fish pieces of mouth plate, or starfish dissgregated plates...Take a look... First, the matrix, in witch you can see some pieces: An isolated piece, from above: And another one: Pieces are two or three milimetres long; That`s why my pics are so awfull! sorry about the quality! Megaselachus13
It is an aggregate of starfish plates (ossicles). Surely from a same specimen. Perhaps Cretaceous Metopaster sp.?. Greetings.

Coco
Hi, I agree with Megaselachus, it's ossicles of starfish.
