Auspex
This curious fossil is for sale on Ebay; it caught my eye as something unusual, and I wondered what it is: The seller's description says that it is 3 1/2" (91mm) long, and that it came from Mazon Creek. docdutronc
Hi Chas and Steve Yes it is indeed strange, I see a helical symmetry of the beads that were probably wear scars, I see no compelling characters that can give such a dubious lepidophyta, it reminds me that this fossil has lost his coal layers ....Lepidodendron sp.????
