New Members FOH Posted September 21, 2019 New Members Share Posted September 21, 2019 Last summer, I took a trip to North and South Lake campgrounds for a casual camping trip. While there, I snooped around my camp site and found these nodules filled with shells. What I was wondering was if these fossils actually came from the site I was at or if the rocks were imported to outline the camping grounds. North and South Lake campgrounds is here: The fossils look like this: Thank you for your time.

caldigger
Cant tell you of the true origins of your piece, but that is a real nice "showy" brach hash plate. Did you only find a couple? I would think if it originated from that location they would be lots of them scattered all around there.

I searched around the campsite for more and found about 5 in total.

Most probably native to that location. Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!

erose
Devonian would be the period. But would need to zero in tighter with a geologic bedrock map to nail the formation.
