New Members TommyK Posted November 4, 2009 New Members Share Posted November 4, 2009 Hello, I would like to start off by saying I don't really know anything about fossils and rocks but I came across what I think is a fossil and am very curious to find out what it might be (If it is even a fossil?). Here are a couple of piccys that I have taken: Sorry about the picture quality, I will try and get some better close-ups if required. Sadly, I have had this thing for a few years now and I can't remember where I found it :S I the only I know for certain is that it is from a beach on the east coast of England and has definitely come from the sea. Any ideas? Thank you in advance Tom.
tracer
looks like sort of a vertical cross-section through a crinoid columnal segment welcome. look around while you're here. search the term "crinoid". p.s. - i'm usually warong on the id's though, because i seem to think everything is from a bison or a mammoth. crinus
It is a rock with a crinoid stem section imbedded in it. It definitely is a fossil.

MikeD
Fossils in a water worn stone can have an interesting look. I like it and would have picked it up my self.
